Above are wireless triggers, they allow a flash to be fired from across the room. A great way to move the flash off the camera. The question is, are they considered a new toy or a tool for our business? When you're a photographer and love what you do, they are both.
A friend of ours, that we met on a mission trip in Botswana, has a ministry called "God is Grace". The ministry is to find women supporters in the US to sponsor a woman in Jinja, Uganda so that she can learn a trade and have the ability to feed her family.
The necklace above is an example of how the women of Jinja are learning to support their family. The necklaces are made of paper that has been tightly hand rolled to make the beads. The necklaces are then sealed to protect the paper from the elements. It is amazing the colors and styles that can be made from paper. If you would like to purchase one of these beautifully hand made necklaces that is truly a work of art, The Beautiful Life has teamed with God is Grace to sell them online.
The women also learn the skill of sewing and use cement bag to practice.

Today is Lacy's birthday, so she let me put a bow tie on her and make a photo. I thnk she really enjoyed her birthday because she had some of my grilled chicken for lunch and a few treats as payment for modeling the bow tie.

Here is something you don't see every day in Georgia. Jamie decided to use Lacy as a sled dog. I don't think she is ready for the Iditarod Trail quite yet.

It's not very often in GA we have the chance to build a snowman, but with today's snow fall I could not pass up building one. I did have help from my girls. Sorry that there are so many pine needles in him, but after all there are a lot of pine trees here.

My girls before the Father/Daughter Valentine's Day dance. We had a great time of dinner and dancing tonight, I'm looking forward to it again next year.
Our Church has a Father/Daughter Valentine's Day dance every year. We were helping to set up for the dance tonight and decided to take a look at the bridal room since we are photographing a wedding there in less than two weeks. We wanted to see if it had changed since the last time we were in the room. I decided to use a rose that will be part of the decoration tomorrow to do a little lighting test.
A county worker crosses the street to mark the water lines. I made this photo while driving at about forty-five miles per hours on the way home. Clicking the shutter as I passed while panning the camera to keep the blur down. (Do not try this at home, please keep both hands on the steering wheel while driving, only a professional should attempt making photos while driving.)
Photography Tip: When making a self-portrait using the self-timer mode on the camera, be sure to give you-self plenty of time to get into position before the shutter click.
There are times in life when you have stop waiting for things to happen and do something about it. If no one has ever heard of you they are not going to hire you, even if you are the greatest photographer in the world. So lace up your shoes and get out there and make things happen.
Welcome to Ken’s Place, the personal blog of an Atlanta based wedding photographer that is one half of Worley Arts. This blog was started as a place to post a photograph a day. I did post a photograph a day for a year, now I post whatever comes to mind or what my readers suggest. Thank you for stopping by.
