Day 118: Flying Cards

Sometimes to make a photograph you have to do some strange things. For this shot I set the camera on a tripod, placed a hot shoe flash to camera right, and the camera was in self-timer mode with a five second delay. I clicked the shutter button and then laid on my back so I could throw the card up in to the light at the exact moment the flash fired.

Day 115: Measure Up

How do you measure up to other photographers? When looking at other photographers' images, we tend to have a little voice inside deciding if we could create that image or not.

I try not to worry about how I measure up to other photographers because we all have a different view on life. That is one of the things that make photography so great. You can line up ten photographers and have them look at the same scene and you will get ten different photographs. God made each of us unique, so we all have our own style. View other photographers work, but remember to embrace your own style.
