While we were at my Grandparents' today, my cousin Alex came over to show off her new hair cut. She donated her hair, about 10 inches, to Locks of Love. Isn't it awesome when children choose to help others. Way to go, Alex!

We had boiled peanuts for an appetizer on Thanksgiving. It may sound a little odd to some, but I am from the south.

Day 46: Chevy

While walking today I spotted this '55 Chevy in a neighbors yard. I walked closer, hoping that the owner might come outside and chat. He was not home, so I just walked around and took a few pictures. I would love to have a bride standing next to this beauty, but for today I'll just settle for the car alone.

Day 45: Lila

Sometimes you have to be patient to get the photo you want. Take Lila's picture for instance: just before this shot she had her hand in front of her face or she had her dad's finger in her mouth. I waited for her to relax and allow her arms to fall from in front of her face before clicking the shutter.

Day 44: Dogwood Berries

Berries of a dogwood tree in the rain. It's awesome how God takes care of the birds; the berries appear on the dogwood tree at a time of year when the insects are scarce. The real cool thing is that God will take of us too, if we let Him and trust in Him.

Day 43: Locations

In the picture above there are rocks, trees, leaves and a fence. Do you see only what I listed or something much more? This is where he had a family portrait session today. I guess you could call it the rockin' location. You never know where you might find a place to have a photo shoot; I find myself always on the lookout for places to photograph families, couples, and brides. It's a good idea to keep a notebook with you, just in case you spot an ideal photographic location.

I had to try a self-portrait with a little twist. I didn't get the levitation look exactly right, but it was fun trying something new. Have you tried anything new lately?

Day 41: Crossing

I like the look of the railroad crossing sign in black and white. It reminds me of a small town in a time when things were a little slower. A time when people were not in such a hurry. Think for a minute about the last time you asked a stranger how they were doing, and really wanted to know the answer. I guess I'm saying that we should all slow down and take a step out of the rat-race to enjoy the world and people around us.

Day 40: Teddy

I'm glad that my children like to pose for photographs but they move a little too much when I'm practicing shooting at a slow shutter speed. So I picked a new volunteer, meet Mr. Teddy.

This was taken hand held at 1/2.5 @ f/2.8, ISO 200. Thank you, Mr. Teddy for sitting very still for me.
